Students Hold Fitness Activity Day

Designed to provide a taste of how much fun exercise can be, the day offered circuit training at a low to moderate intensity to students and staff from the College.

Talking about the event, College Lecturer Stuart Allen said, "As part of the BTEC Introductory Diploma in Sport and Leisure course the students have to plan and develop an event covering everything from the initial creative idea to finance and promotion. They felt that it would be a great idea to hold a number of circuit training sessions for staff and students in the light of recent publicity about the importance of exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. Lots of teenagers tend to be worried or anxious about their weight, so hopefully providing people with a taste of how much fun exercise can be will have helped to encourage them to take up regular exercise and be fitter and healthier."
