College to run Fame Factory Dance Summer School
Open to anyone over the age of seven, the Fame Factory school will cover various dance techniques from jazz and ballet to contemporary and cheerleading. In addition, skills such as musical theatre, stage acting and singing will all be taught.
The school will run for two weeks from Monday 28 July until Friday 08 August, with the first week designed specifically for those aged between 7 and 14, whilst the second week is for children over the age of 14. The classes will run Monday to Friday from 10.00am until 4.30pm.
Lecturer Karen Mellor commented, "This is an exciting venture for the College which will provide local people of all ages with an introduction to a very broad range of dance techniques. In addition, developments that are currently taking place in the dance and theatre industries has increased the demand for performers who can combine dance and dramatic skills so the course will also cover a variety of other exciting elements such as musical theatre. No previous dance experience is required and anyone over the age of seven is welcome to attend, male or female. It's going to be a real fun way to spend the Summer!"
Fifty places are available each day on the Summer School and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Costs are £10 per day or £40 per week. To book a place, or for more information please contact Keith Sutton or Karen Mellor on 01283 494719.
