Combat Climate Change
Sales of bottled water have hit a record high of almost one billion litres a year. Consumption of bottled water in the UK has increased by a third over the past six years from 747 million litres in 2002 to 965 million litres in 2006.
Now campaigners are trying to persuade people to drink more tap water instead since it is claimed that the transporting of bottle water alone produces over 33,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
