Are you a victim of discrimination?

East Staffordshire Citizens Advice Bureau can help with everything from discrimination at work to being unfairly treated in shops and when purchasing goods and services.

With a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience Citizens Advice Bureau advisers can provide information and advice, negotiate on a client's behalf or even help take a case to a tribunal where discrimination on grounds of sex, race, age, disability, faith or sexuality is involved.

Chief Executive Dawn Trigg, said "We understand the fear and intimidation people can feel faced with the prospect of dealing with an employer or a large company when they feel they have been discriminated against. The law has changed considerably in recent years to give greater protection against discrimination, but many people don't know their rights, or may need advice and support to use them. That's where we can help. We want to do as much as we can to raise awareness of these rights and ensure everyone who can do benefits from them."

The move comes as national Citizens Advice sponsors lesbian gay bisexual trans (LGBT) History Month. This celebrates the lives and achievements of the LGBT community, as well as the diversity of society as a whole. Founded and run by volunteers, LGBT History Month aims to encourage all sections of society to acknowledge and understand the lives of the LGBT community. It also celebrates those who have fought against discrimination on the grounds of their sexuality, race or religion.
