How Kumon can help you build a brighter future for your child with our special 50th Anniversary Summer Taster offer

Kumon is one of the leading after-school education providers in the UK and Ireland, offering maths and English programmes. Toru Kumon, a gifted teacher from Japan, began developing worksheets for his son over 50 years ago, determined to give him the best start in life by building solid foundations in the core subjects of maths and English. 50 years on there are over 54,000 Kumon students learning at 575 study centres across the UK and Ireland, with over four million students worldwide. These numbers continue to grow as more parents and children realise the benefits of Kumon.

Focusing on each individual child, the Kumon Method aims to help children reach their full potential by teaching them fundamental learning skills and ensuring they are studying at their 'just right level', whatever their age or ability. The programme is tailored to the needs of each child so they can work at their own pace, building confidence and encouraging them to become independent learners through self-study. Through daily practice and repetition, students improve concentration and gain effective study skills that will enhance their future learning.

With Kumon's unique educational approach, the maths programme leads students from the very basics of maths to the mastery of algebra and calculus without the use of calculators. The English programme aims to develop each student's ability to read and understand a wide variety of texts and to nurture a life-long habit of reading and writing for both education and enjoyment. Both programmes complement the national curriculum, giving children the confidence and focus they need to tackle more challenging work.

The Summer Taster will provide parents with an insight into Kumon before making a financial commitment so they can decide whether or not Kumon is suitable for their children. In previous years parents may have seen looking for additional help in their children's education as admitting failure or fearing that they may appear 'pushy'. Now, however, it is often seen as a natural part of being a parent in today's modern world. Kumon works with parents to give their children the extra support or stimulation they require to help them achieve their goals.

The Summer Taster offer applies to either or both subjects and is open to families who are new to Kumon, siblings of current students and those already in the programme, considering a second subject. Any number of children per family can take part. On completion of the taster the family can choose to keep their child/children on the programme or discontinue. Should the parent decide to discontinue, no charge is made. Should they decide to continue, registration and monthly subject fees are payable from the 15th day of study.

Kumon's initial registration fee is £25. The monthly single subject fee is £50 per child. Dual subject fees, for those students studying both the maths and English programmes, are £90 per month, per child, provided both subjects are studied at the same study centre. All monthly subject fees are payable in advance.
