Council Seeks Views on Housing Provision

East Staffordshire Borough Council is currently consulting about two key documents:
• The Housing Strategy - which will set out the key strategic housing issues, priorities and policies for the period 2008-13
• The Housing Allocations Policy - which will be used to allocate social housing within East Staffordshire.

Councillor Robert Hardwick, Deputy Leader for Development and Regeneration, said: "Our vision for housing in East Staffordshire is a combination of growth with new developments and renewal of old properties, that will create a housing situation that is attractive, sustainable and complements an ambitious economic growth agenda that makes the area a popular place to invest, work and to live.

"We are keen to receive comments about whether residents think our proposed new strategy will deliver this vision.

"One of our priorities is to ensure fair and effective allocation of social housing so we are keen to receive comments about whether our proposed new Allocations Policy will deliver this."

The documents can be viewed on the Council's website at www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk, under Consultations.

Printed copies can be requested by calling the Council on 01283 508825.

The deadline for returning comments is Friday, December 5th.
