Free Christmas Car Parking for Late Night Shoppers

East Staffordshire Borough Council has again decided to offer free parking in its town centre car parks every Thursday evening, in both Burton and Uttoxeter, from 5.00pm onwards between November 20th and December 18th.

This will coincide with the start of the late night shopping events being promoted by the retail centres in Burton. To support this, free parking will be made available in Cooper's Square (Surface), Burton Place, Library, Fleet Street, High Street and Meadowside car parks.

Similarly, in Uttoxeter, shoppers may take advantage of free parking in The Maltings, Trinity Road, Carter's Square and Fairfield Road facilities.

Deputy Leader for Development and Regeneration, Councillor Robert Hardwick, said: "The festive season is synonymous these days with shopping and East Staffordshire Borough Council recognises the importance of supporting the local economy and encouraging visitors to both town centres over the Christmas period, particularly in this difficult financial climate.

"The Council is pleased to support the late night shopping events, which take place over the festive season, and hope this further encourages shoppers to continue to visit our excellent retail centres in the run-up to Christmas."
