First Birthday Celebrations for Food Star Scheme
In its first year the star-rating scheme, run by the Council's Food Safety team, has given a nought to five stars rating to around 570 food businesses across East Staffordshire.
Over two thirds of those businesses inspected have achieved a four or five star rating.
Councillor Malcolm Barrett, Deputy Leader for Environment, said: "Our congratulations to all those businesses who have achieved a four or five stars rating for the high levels of hygiene and food safety in their businesses.
"We are also hoping that those premises who have not achieved such success will continue to work hard to improve their score the next time they are visited by our inspection teams."
East Staffordshire Borough Council's food safety team is eager for as many businesses as possible to get a top Rate My Place star rating.
